About

He learned to read a floor. Now he makes his own music.

ÖRTiZ started behind the decks in Barcelona, learning to read a floor: the movement, the clubs, the exact second a room becomes one.

Then he wanted to stop playing other people's music and make his own. That means starting again, and he does it in the open: he learns, releases, improves. House is the language; groove, soul and voices with character are what it says.

Three years behind the decks, with periodic residencies at Pacha and Opium (The Cave), and as resident DJ at The Fun House and Alma parties. From Barcelona to Bali, he plays House that is made to dance to, and to feel.

The path

From the booth to his own records, step by step.

  1. 01Barcelona

    Learning the floor

Behind the decks, in clubs and on rooftops, he learned to read a room: when to push, when to hold, when to let it breathe.

  2. 02The pause

    Stepping away from the noise

The need to stop came. Not to leave the music, but to hear it again, and to hear himself.

  3. 03Bali

    Room to listen

Bali was the setting, not the story: distance, calm and time to ask what the music is really for.

  4. 04Producing

Saying it in his own records

From playing other people's music to making his own: groove underneath, voices with character on top.

  5. 05Connection

    Closer

House is the language that joins both sides. The aim is not only that people dance, but that they feel: Más Cerca and Move With Me.

It is not an ending. Still moving, record by record.

Behind the name

Not only the artist: the person.

Behind ÖRTiZ there is someone who had to stop in order to listen again. Barcelona-born, living in Bali, speaking Spanish and English, still learning in public.

What happens in the booth and in the studio is part of the same path. The personal and the professional do not run apart: one feeds the other, and the music is where they meet.

Barcelona

Where the music started: clubs, long nights, a crowd that taught the floor how to move.

Bali

Where the pace dropped and the production deepened. Distance from the noise, room to listen. Same person, a new way of saying it.
